Sara Blakely isn't getting fans' full support on her latest endeavor.
The Spanx founder launched a new footwear brand called Sneex aimed at making "comfortable high heels," and the internet isn't quite sure how to feel about its first line of shoes.
Sara launched the venture's first product on Aug. 15, debuting a "hy-heel," or a sneaker-stiletto hybrid, that features a 3-inch heel, napa leather, velcro detailing, Italian mesh and suede materials. And the cost of each pair isn't cheap, which each style retailing for upwards of $500.
“Sneex are my love letter to every woman who has taken her shoes off at a party," the billionaire shared in a note on the company's website alongside the reveal, "who wears flats to work with heels in her bag, who thought her days of wearing heels were over.”
But not everyone was into the concept, with some fans poking fun at the footwear's design.
"Are we going to make a version that's cute," one X user quipped, while another added, "Velcro??? Are we toddlers?"
Others could see Sara's vision but wished she had executed it differently.
"Sneex don’t commit, trying to be both in too obvious of ways," one user wrote. "Crocks are ugly but successful bc they embraced comfort unabashedly. I wish these didn’t look like sneakers but had incredible comfort technology in them. Adore Sarah but these are a miss."
Still, Sara's new business did garner some fans, with one user admitting, "Gotta hand it to Sara Blakely, I was fully prepared to guffaw at and hate Sneex - but I kinda dig 'em. Any plans for a full wedge? I'll be watching..."
Of course, the launch is only the beginning for the shoe brand, as Sarah recently explained that working on Sneex has her "back in start up mode."
"Let’s GOOOO!" Sara wrote in a Aug. 13 Instagram post alongside a video showing stacks of inventory. "Another company with boxes in the garage. Reliving my @spanx days for sure."
She added, "Only this time I actually have a garage."
